Dr. Frank Rosenberg, J.D., Ph.D.
Patent Attorney
Since 1998, Dr. Frank Rosenberg has represented both large and small corporate clients in a variety of patent-related matters such as intellectual property strategy, patent preparation and worldwide prosecution, appeals and reexaminations. Prior to establishing his own practice, Dr. Rosenberg was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent Office and an associate at law firms in Washington D.C.

Archana Varadaraj, PhD
Biological/Biochemical Sciences Specialist
Archana Varadaraj earned a PhD from the University of Cambridge in Pathology and has worked in post-doctoral positions in Molecular Genetics, Oncology and Biochemistry. Archana has extensive research training in the areas of cancer cell biology and fibrosis and is experienced in working with diverse technologies in molecular biology, antibodies, therapeutic peptides and methods of treating diseases. Prior to starting her own research group as an NIH funded investigator, she conducted post-doctorate research work at European Oncology Institute, Milan, University of South Carolina and Ohio State University. Following her post-doctoral work, Archana has been an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Northern Arizona University. Her research has focused on cell signaling, extracellular matrix, peptides, cancer genomics and biochemistry. Her work has been published in top-tier, peer-reviewed scientific journals and recognized at international conferences; a link to a complete list of her numerous publications in Google Scholar is provided here, Within the firm, Archana is focused on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sectors. Archana is currently studying for the Patent Bar.
Mui Tran
Patent Agent
Mui earned a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Classics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1999. Since graduating, she taught high school math and science, and has worked in the engineering and technology industries. She joined the firm in 2019.
Paola Severich
Paralegal
Paola Severich is the lead intellectual property paralegal for Frank Rosenberg Patent Group, handling ownership documents and patent formalities in the United States and in foreign jurisdictions. With over 20 years of experience as a patent paralegal, Paola’s abilities include preparing and filing patent applications; communicating with clients, inventors, foreign associates, draftsmen, and other outside parties; researching U.S. patent issues and law; responding to foreign formalities and instruction requests; preparing and filing responses to USPTO formalities objections; handling assignments, declarations, and similar documentation; and providing additional support to attorneys/agents. She received her Paralegal Certificate from Edmonds Community College. Paola enjoys traveling the world, volunteering, and working with children.
Martin Cooper, PhD
Patent Analyst/Searcher
Martin Cooper is the Patent Analyst/Searcher for the firm, conducting searches of scientific and patent literature, US and foreign. With a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Hull in the UK, Martin specializes in Chemistry, Medical Devices, Material Science, Mechanical, and Engineering. Martin is experienced with different search types, including: Freedom-to-operate, Validity, Patentability and State-of-the-Art. In addition to preparing international patent search reports, Martin prepares and files disclosures of prior art at the USPTO and prepares international status reports for foreign associates handling the firm’s foreign patent applications. Outside of the patent field, Martin has ten years of experience as a Ph.D. research chemist working in industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Martin, in his free time, enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and bicycling.
Martina Lopez
Billing Administrator and Annuity Coordinator
Martina’s role in the firm is to provide billing and administrative support. She manages accounts payable and receivable as well as other general financial matters within the firm. Martina is in charge of annuity/maintenance fees-related matters, including communication, coordinating and monitoring. She was born and raised in the Czech Republic where she also obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Social and Media Communication from J.A.Komensky University in Prague. Martina lives in the Bay Area with her husband, three kids and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new places, and hiking on beautiful trails of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Angelica Hall
Docketing Specialist
Angelica Hall is the firm’s docketing specialist, handling all incoming communications and documents, and managing the firm’s docket. Additionally, Anglica regularly communicates with clients, foreign associates, and the USPTO, and handles special requests made by the firm’s clients. Born and raised in New York City, Angelica pursued a B.A. in Psychology from the City University of New York. Angelica has extensive administrative experience. Prior to joining the firm, for over 15 years, Angelica worked in the administrative field supporting non-profits, large corporations, small firms and city government. Angelica enjoys spending time with her family, feeding her curiosity, and exploring new cuisines.
